All Roads Lead West!
New Mental Health Clinic Opens in Villa Rica, GA, to Expand West Georgia Therapy Access
VILLA RICA, GA — June 26, 2026 — Access to local mental health care is expanding across West Georgia. On July 8, 2026, Today Alone Therapy Collective will open its doors in Villa Rica, Georgia. The new clinic will provide in-person and virtual therapy services for children, adolescents, adults, and families throughout Carroll, Paulding, Douglas, and Heard counties, including Carrollton, Bremen, Temple, Douglasville, and surrounding communities.
Founded by Sharilee Benjamin, LCSW, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and U.S. Army veteran, the practice aims to reduce barriers to timely, local support.
Meeting a Critical Need for West Georgia Mental Health Services
Local regional data highlights a significant gap in care across Western Georgia communities:
Carroll County residents experience an average of nearly six days of poor mental health each month.
The region faces provider shortages, with Carroll County alone having only one mental health professional for every 521 residents.
Timely access to care is vital for families, workers, and veterans living across Douglas, Paulding, and Heard counties.
"Life can be hard sometimes, but you don't have to deal with it alone," said Benjamin. "Therapy offers a confidential space to process life's challenges, develop new skills, and move toward resilience."
Evidence-Based Trauma and Anxiety Treatment
The clinic specializes in trauma-informed care and individualized treatment plans. Patients can access several evidence-based modalities:
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing): Highly effective for PTSD and trauma recovery.
CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy): Designed to manage anxiety, depression, and daily stress.
DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy): Focused on emotion regulation and coping skills.
The practice accepts multiple commercial insurance plans, private pay, and offers sliding-scale fees to ensure financial accessibility for regional families.
A Collaborative Workspace for Regional Clinicians
Beyond patient care, Today Alone Therapy Collective introduces a unique shared workspace model for independent licensed mental health professionals. Clinicians can access fully furnished therapy offices, professional amenities, and a collaborative environment. This sustainable private practice model directly increases the availability of in-person mental health providers across West Georgia.
